    Good company to work for. Benefit were good. Bonus program

    Bad dept management put them out of market. Bonus program did not work out so well

    I worked at Sports Authority part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    The discount was probably the best part about this job. The employees were awesome too.

    Cons

    Too hard to get a promotion... I worked there for 2 years and made 50 cents over the minimum wage.

    Advice to Management

    When minimum wage goes up your other employed should go up as well. Cash leads shouldn't be making less than cashiers.

    I worked at Sports Authority full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Great environment while it lasted. Treated us well. I wish they were still around, I would still be there today.

    Cons

    Liquidation was a definite con to this job, just when we started thinking about retirement the debt brought us into a reality check.

    Advice to Management

    If you ever get an opportunity to do this all over again, do not change a thing ... except for the debt.

    Pros

    Was a fun place to work for a long time. Management helped mold employees to be ready for promotion

    Cons

    Top management ruined the company. They could not keep a CEO, made bad business decisions. Could not keep up with the competition, old stores remained dilapidated even after being told they were getting remodeled, especially after both Dicks and Academy moved in within a mile of a long standing location

    Pros

    Pretty structured and hr is very team oriented to where you can do your job very effectively. I miss the people of the company. The discount was awesome, The longest time it was 50% off most things then drop down to 40% which is still not bad.

    Cons

    The company owners need horrible financial decisions that ultimately led to the downfall of the company as a whole.Too late now doesn't matter the companies out of business. The company went out of business.

    Great atmosphere for sports Enthusiast, good customer service and sales training, great employee discount, good products

    typical night weekend holiday retail schedules, payroll restraints, performance driven company that may not appeal to performance driven individual due to pay & hourly limitations, upper management misdirections

    find ways to retain talented sales associates, more flexible expectations in regards to sales floor performance, less micro management, empower your store managers to have a better reach with its own specific market
