I have been working at Sports Direct part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Meet new people, can choose your own hours, 20% discounts!.
The other staff here are very friendly and understanding, helpful if I don't know something.
Managers bought us cakes after a particularly busy day!

    Cons

Back to school and Christmas times are very busy and stressful and busy!
Been doing the same job/task(s) for >1 year, getting bored now, only thing making it noticeably interesting is the variations of customers. We use radios to talk and often there aren't enough and people get into a queue to call the shoes which causes irritation with some customers.

    Advice to Management

Make sure all packaging is in decent condition as its often unusable and falls apart. I've had many complaints about this. Some sort of new system for calling the shoes is required, the radios are somewhat inefficient.

I have been working at Sports Direct part-time

    Pros

The workforce is diverse yet we do take care of each other, and work well together to take care of the store.

    Cons

The rate of pay and the hours worked sometimes do not match up in terms of worth, particularly because the work load can often be larger than specified or rather first discussed upon hiring.

I worked at Sports Direct part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Friendly coworkers who are down to earth
    - Commission buils up quite easily if you work in the right sections of the footwear department

    Cons

    - Not one single manager was nice and supportive. There were five managers in total and none of them actually appreciate their new workers. If you are a new worker there, you're going to be treated horribly until you have been there for at least a year.
    - Pay is good at first, but sucks if you're trying to progress. I've seen people there working for at least two years and still stuck on a dead-end salary where other places, the salary is generally £7 or higher.
    - 0 hour contract is horrible

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees with more sympathy and respect, and accept that they're not perfect. These 'managers' do not have the emotional intelligence for such a role and so are in capable of managing people.
