SpotHopper is an AMAZING place to work!
Feb 8, 2023 - Business Development RepresentativeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
-Incredible working environment: everyone is so incredibly positive, genuine and supportive! - Room for growth: There are progression plans laid out for different positions, as well as so many opportunities within this rapidly growing company - Manageable work load: I feel that my daily responsibilities and work load is both engaging and challenging but manageable and not overwhelming.
Cons
For me personally, there are no cons to working here.

Might be a good fit for some, but not for me
Feb 14, 2023 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Good salary & benefits, quick raises - The product is legitimate, works, and is generally easy to sell - Customers are *usually* pleasant to work with
Cons
- Management will not listen to or prioritize employee feedback; their way is the "correct way" - No Human Resources department - Management particulalry gives off an inauthentic and high-school-like behavior - Employees are forced to record audio from pitch meetings with prospects without them being made aware; ethics coming into question - Customer support team almost entirely outsourced overseas - Much of the BDR team is unprofessional; sometimes leave disrespectful comments about prospects in the company's CRM - Heavy focus on hustle culture - Typos in customer-facing documents and contracts - Awful work/life balance; if you remotely prioritize your mental health, I would not suggest working here - Heavy on cold calls though the company lacks effort into expanding marketing strategies; social media presence alone is frankly laughable and doesn't provide much of a credible image from a customer perspective - Training is too brief for the amount of backend work there is - Management says they truly value "overcommunication" when really what that translates to is that you will be micromanaged every day

Not really any pay was good. And request off are usually accepted
Cons
No sick time. Only 10 days of PTO if you’re full time and 5 if you’re part time. PTO also does not roll over. It doesn’t seem like SpotHopper wants to change or grow. When things are brought up especially in exit interviews, SpotHopper still doesn’t try to change. There are senior account managers that have made others uncomfortable but the lack of HR and favoritism in the office has kept people quiet. Overall they don’t take criticism well and want employees to have fake enthusiasm and fake emotion because they don’t accept any criticism or any crying especially if someone over the phone is mean to you. They also will only pay you outside of work hours only if you make a certain amount of calls, even though if you do any work outside of hours you should be paid. Including if you WFH. even if you are working they will look for anyway to not pay you, and take money away. They undervalue employees and aren’t looking to grow at all or actually help customers.

Pros
Great team of other sales reps. Everyone is trying so hard and working really hard too. It can be hard to watch the same reps get hand outs, compliments and mamba nominations/promotions every single month but there is always favoritism everywhere you go. Money is good! Great perks and having BDRs schedule meetings for you can be helpful.
Cons
I had such high hopes for this place. I wanted to write this not to be mean, but to inform people looking to get into sales at Spothopper. I really enjoyed the job at first, I felt like it was a company really trying to provide honest solutions for restaurant owners in a very positive , upbeat environment. My experience changed pretty drastically when the curtain started to roll back. There is no real team here. It is every man for themselves. The sites are cheap, cookie cutter templates that the design team over in Serbia recycle. Some turn out nice but the majority are really poorly done with spelling errors, plain color blocking etc. the only thing that makes their sites a tibit better is the videos , which more and more of their competitors are now offering as well. So what happens when Their competition is all offering the same if not better sites with videos? …they will struggle plain and simple. Like some of the other reviews here, there was no direction from sales leadership other than riding you for # of calls you made, filling out daily recaps and recording your sales pitches. They will push you hard to close on the spot. Yes it is a sale organization but they just don’t get it. It should be about helping the customers and not just about getting The sale and moving to the next one. There seemed to be a holier than thou attitude about the product from leadership, which was absolutely not the case out in the field. The product is overpriced, and had hardly any relevant updates that would actually benefit customers. Spothopper competition has numerous partnerships with point of sale companies etc that makes it really difficult to sell against. On top of that, if customers were to sign up, a lot of the time would never launch or will cancel within first year because onboarding dropped the ball time and time again. The quota was hard to be consistent with for most reps unless you are being hand fed referrals from the one and only referral partners . Managers will say that those reps “ earned” those referrals. Really? How did they earn them? They are just lucky enough to be located in a territory where the referrals are coming from. Was I jealous? Hell yes I was. They think we are all stupid and don’t realize that the people they call rockstars are the ones getting those. Spothopper do not take those, almost , guaranteed sale referrals off the table for rewards, Presidents Club standings, promotionsetc which isn’t really fair for those that do not have that opportunity. Reps who don’t get those referrals have to work twice as hard to put up half the sales. You can start out really strong but it is very difficult to sustain the quota every single month and they cut you no slack if you don’t meet and exceed quota. It astounded me that leadership never addressed the glaring problems, which was onboarding, and the overall product (price, capabilities, etc.), but rather chalked it up to people not making enough calls. It got to a point where I didn’t feel good about what I was selling, especially when leadership is pushing up-selling products that people don’t need so our numbers look a little better for possible investors. Overall, I have never in my professional career been so stressed, and lost in a job as I was here. It’s a shame because there are a lot of good employees at the company who are willing to do whatever to help, but everybody has a limit. Take this review as you will, I’d encourage anyone to make the best decision for themselves whether that is working for a very high turnover sales job or not. Hey you could possibly be their next “Rockstar” and think this whole review was just from a disgruntled past employee. For your sake I hope you are right and are the next rockstar.

Motivating work environment!
Nov 11, 2022 - Business Development Representative (BDR) in Milwaukee, WIRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Work with a young team in a fun, accepting environment. The managers are really there to help you. Flexible hours. Great for college students to start in. Real potential of growth within the company. Benefits like health, 401K, parking stipends. Loads of snacks Great pay & incentives. Can dress however you want
Cons
BDRs use own phones and laptops since it is kind of still a start-up. Nowadays, I've seen them lending out laptops for people that need them though. I could see them doing this more, the more we grow. Limited to 30 hours a week if you are only a BDR, but you ask about other roles to get more hours. Often times, not having the option to work from home
