I have been working at Squar Milner for less than a year

    Pros

This is the middle of my first busy season and it's\, well, very busy! I was concerned that the realities of transitioning from the dynamics of recruiting would be vastly different than the realities of the workplace. It is different because of the accountability for your work and pressure to be efficient. What is also different and refreshing is the willingness of my supervisor to answer my questions and help me...

    Cons

Some of the budgets tend to be tight and it's tough to complete the work within them.

    Advice to Management

Analyze whether job budgets are realistic.

I have been working at Squar Milner full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There are some good managers and some mad as with everywhere you work. Work hours are tough, but manageable during busy season.

    Cons

Would like to see a much bigger increase in 401k match from 500 to several thousand. Would also like to see a much bigger increase in PTO time.

I have been working at Squar Milner full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Working at Squar Milner for the past 6 months has been a great experience. I've been fortunate enough to be placed in the all the industries that I have been interested in learning more about (financial services, real estate, etc). The people are great to work with and the opportunities for growth are endless. The firm gives you countless opportunities to meet everyone in the office from Partner to associate and they...

    Cons

The bonus is pretty hard to get at the 6 month mark, however it can be obtained by the end of the year. Not as many travel opportunities in this office as there are in other offices. While there is an abundance of constructive criticism there isn't much commendation offered for jobs well done.

I have been working at Squar Milner full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    1. Rapid growth - the firm has grown every year since I've been here, and according to the Partners and Managers, the firm is looking to grow more. 2. Exposure to Partners - No archaic caste system here, you will work and learn from partners with 30+ years of experience in your first year. 3. Travel opportunities - for a regional Southern California firm, there an impressive amount of international and domestic work...

    Cons

    1. Like any job you take, the cultural fit can be luck of the draw. I consider myself fortunate to work for Managers and Partners who I fit well with, but for some of my former co-workers, the fit was not as great. This can make or break your experience at the firm, as you will spend a large amount of time working in teams, and if you don't get along with your team members, it can be tough. 2. Large amount of autonomy...

    Pros

Great team, company takes you on an annual trip after busy season.

    Cons

Excessive emphasis on budgets. No 401K, and no bonus unless you meet hard-to-achieve billable hour requirements.
