    Pros

The Company allows you to be in control of your own career path. Management is understanding and supportive which starts with the tone at the top. The Company is growing at a healthy rate which provides additional opportunity. There is also a reasonable work/life balance compared to the industry.

    Cons

    Nothing noted at this time

    Pros

Open door policy culture, great work life balance, too many opportunities for employees, employee recognition, fun and friendly co-workers, overall a great place to work at.

    Cons

Really there are none, except for the form needs to improve their 401k plan.

I have been working at Squar Milner full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I have been with the company a little over two years and I can see how fast the company is growing and expending. The People are very friendly and professional. The annual trip after busy season is huge deal as you get to know people outside work field.

    Cons

Work life balance which normal for public companies.

    Advice to Management

    Consider better 401K match

I have been working at Squar Milner full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The firm is growing and rapidly expanding which creates a lot of opportunities for growth. The people are nice and everyone is willing to help. The firm culture embodies a work hard play hard attitude where you operate 100% when you're at work but when you're chilling you should be 100% chilling. Definitely a great firm to work at.

    Cons

Like with any public accounting firm, work life balance is always going to be a con but when you are in the trenches with your friends it doesn't seem so bad!

    Advice to Management

-Consider changing the VCA eligibility criteria -Better employee match

I have been working at Squar Milner full-time

    Pros

    - Full service accounting firm with tax, audit, bankruptcy/consulting, etc. - Specialty groups in State & Local, R&D, and International - Strong opportunity for advancement as the firm continues to grow. Management group has a focus on revenue growth and expansion. - Flexibility to work at multiple offices, transfer between offices or groups - High quality work that promotes professional development

    Cons

    - work/life balance has improved but there is still room for improvement.

    Advice to Management

    - Need more of a focus on medical coverage/benefits. Firm trip and other events can be seen as excessive spending in the wrong areas.

I have been working at Squar Milner full-time for less than a year

    Pros

It provides a luxurious work environment.........if you have an office. The mints at the front desk are great, on your way in, and on your way out because those are the only times you'll get to enjoy them!

    Cons

Gossip, politics, and drama. Toxic for your health. Absolutely no work/life balance is provided, which includes the expectations of 70hr work weeks. Horrible health benefits offered, barely any contributions to a 401k, and company won't match your own contribution(s). Truth be told, everyone hates one another there, unless they're part of a cultural or familial clique....

    Advice to Management

Be HUMAN Resources not INHUMAN Resources. Your employees should matter to you, and not by you protecting yourself and setting the presidence that we do not matter. Don't pretend to make your employees feel like everyone is family and cared for when you treat us like trash. You're the epitome of LA LA Land. FAKE FAKE FAKE! I actually feel worse for the clients of this company like, more than employees like myslef....

I worked at Squar Milner full-time

    Pros

Just like every other company there are some great people that work at Squar Milner that make for a pleasurable working environment. Starting salary was pretty decent from what I recall.

    Cons

Just like every other company there are also some people you would rather not interact with and avoid at all costs, unfortunately some of those people are pretty high up in the organization. They churn through employees from all sides, not just external auditors/tax associates. The biggest disappointment for me was that I had left a decent job to work at Squar Milner under the impression of what the job would be, the...

    Advice to Management

The company has been quite successful with the standard CPA business model, so keep doing what you're doing. Wishful thinking here but try to be a little more honest when interviewing prospective candidates.

I worked at Squar Milner full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The weather. It is located in a US Bank building so you can do your banking on breaks.

    Cons

    1. Everyone has a different set of rules. They make a rule one year about how you have to have your CPA license to be promoted so some people who are up for promotions get held back and then the next year, they promote seniors without their CPA license. If you are the partner favorites they will promote you even if unqualified and when you ask about it, they say that is a subject that cannot be discussed. 2. They...

I worked at Squar Milner full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

You will work on very bad and small clients with no clear direction from partner and/or manager and this will contribute greatly to your learning curve. You will get to know interesting people and you will be forced to play the politics game.

    Cons

The partners group doesn’t care a bit about you or your career. Very bad work life balance. It is a culture of eating time and lies. Salaries are average but management will keep telling you they are paying above average. Minimum benefits with no 401K. No transparency and nothing is clear. Very poor career advancement. You are much better off anywhere else, unless you can’t find...

I have been working at Squar Milner full-time

    Pros

Good location- Newport Beach, fun people

    Cons

    1. Very Budget Conscious firm- will do anything to improve the bottom line in this competitive market including working employees down to the bone. 2. Poor Work/Life Balance- In public accounting, the hours can be expected to be long. However, for the hours worked here during busy season, you're better off working for a larger firm if you are starting your career. Work load...
