I have been working at St. Anthony's Medical Center full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good base pay with differential, wonderful pharmacy manager, easy going environment, nice pharmacists, good insurance. Plenty of training, opportunities for growth.

    Cons

Lots of walking, least paying hospital job in the area, every other weekend required. Lunch is short so you don’t have time to leave the hospital

    Advice to Management

    No weekends!

I worked at St. Anthony's Medical Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people are amazing here. Everyone, from the janitorial staff to the nurses and doctors, really cared about the patients and each other. I loved all of my co-workers at St. Anthony's Medical Center.

    Cons

When I was there, senior management changed quite often. There was a new CEO every other year, each bringing changes to "improve" the system. I left when it became clear to me that St. Anthony's couldn't stay an independent hospital.

I worked at St. Anthony's Medical Center full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Local hospital in county, good location. Hard work, fair pay.

    Cons

Not appreciated for hard work, only criticism of whats going wrong. Managers spoke to me and others in a very degrading manner.

    Advice to Management

Talk to nurses as professionals and equals, most of them have worked hard to get where they are. Listen to the nurses about ways to improve an area. Treat them with respect.

I have been working at St. Anthony's Medical Center full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

My direct supervisor and coworkers are great. We have built a really good team and made a great deal of improvements

    Cons

There is almost no continuity of management. I've been here 5 years, and I'm on 5 CEOs. Now that we're being absorbed into Mercy, we seem to be installing things and uninstalling things at the same time.

I worked at St. Anthony's Medical Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

My immediate co-workers worked well in our team.

    Cons

St. Anthony's has been through many years of transition. They haven't sustained the processes needed to keep the patients safe throughout. Since being sold to Mercy this may improve.

    Advice to Management

Stop changing the top leadership every few years. Listen to your middle management. Be good to your employees.
