    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at St. Clair College as a contractor

    Pros

    Some good staff....students are inspirational.

    Cons

The nepotism is outrageous. Management without qualifications decide to hire friends and family also without proper qualifications. A very disheartening experience.

I worked at St. Clair College (Less than a year)

    Pros

Students and colleagues were great for the most part. The cost of living in Windsor and Essex County is reasonable.

    Cons

Semi-depressed area due to net out-migration of young people since 1940s. Local culture highly paternalistic. College management not up to current challenges. College organization typically top heavy with ineffective and incapable managers who do not teach. Some are openly hostile anti-union empire builders. Little opportunity for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Everyone should teach at least one course, right up to the President. Everyone should be full-time and in the union. Get back to teaching and learning for better student outcomes.
