Incredibly fulfilling work and the opportunity to form bonds with clients and their families

    I worked at St. David's Center part-time

    Pros

I really liked working there, it was a really fulfilling job and I really liked the people who were in charge. It was a great experience and I would highly recommend it.

    Cons

The only cons were that the scheduling was sometimes erratic but it's controlled by the parents of the kids and when they send their kids to camp, not the management.

    Advice to Management

I don't really have a lot of advice, I think management does a good job overall and that it's a really great place to work.

Clients' needs can be very demanding and intense. Staffing tends to have a lot of turnover.

I have been working at St. David's Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedules, wellness program, feeling of purpose, connection with coworkers, community outreach, and feeling inspired by the mission of SDC.

    Cons

Upper management does not involve middle management in strategic planning although middle management roles are the ones affected by these decisions.

    Advice to Management

Look at the core strengths of employees and assign duties based on this. Employees are expected to be experts in such a broad area that strengths are not fully utilized.

    Sporadic scheduling due to turnover.

    Pros

Learning a lot about the field, building connections and networking, learning new skills

    Cons

Training was unhelpful and inadequate, spending a lot of time per week doing work "off the clock", no benefits, unorganized leadership structure, on-going training is not full-pay but is required
