I have been working at St. Dominic's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I loved helping the patients! Most were so grateful and in need of a caring Heart! I had an immediate Manager that was all about Patient Care....then...

    Cons

The Chief Nursing Officer....wow! She'd really smuthing! Ppl have called her EVIL...i just learned to call her something more Doing NOTHING when abuse and near misses are reported...not believing the ppl who report it. RETALIATING because they tell the TRUTH! Systematically firing anyone who said there was a problem!! Thats how st doms solves problems....remove the person who spotted it!That's not what the Catholic principles stand for...not at all!!! What happened to the principle of ACCOUNTABILITY for the CNO and her minions? They fire or remove almost every black person in nursing management! Coincidence? Unlikely! CNO helps only the white ppl get their Masters....if ur black? Not a chance!!!

DISABLED? Try to find a wheelchair accessible bathroom! There isn't one in the whole hospital! Now there's a lawsuit if anyone wants to take that on!

If ur fat the nurses say "get the harpoon"....if u have mental issues don't be surprised if they post things about "taking care of the crazies" on their social media. All of this is unethical and immoral!!! Shame on them.

U in pain? Don't expect treatment! I know there are drug seekers but I'm talking someone they are admitting and is doubled over from a broken hip! U better hope a nurse cares enough to INSIST ON SOMEONE geting ur pain med...too many times they DO NOT!!! IT'S SHAMEFUL!!!

NOW I can go on and on...the care is generally good upstairs but stay away from the hospital on thursdays...that is if it's an emergency...go somewhere else! I saw way too many nurses make errors on Thursday's!

I write this and want you to know I was a VERY DEDICATED employee! I worked any hours, I filled in, I worked as a team! I just could not watch nurses make huge mistakes that left Patients injured! I believe in the CATHOLIC MISSION BUT SATAN IS RUNNING THINGS! It is pervasive! U can FEEL it! It really is scarlet! I wish the holiness of the sisters would come back! That would have been the hospitals only hope!

The hospital has a great HR VP but they have worn him down...perhaps infected him too. He can't fight the evil without upper management backing and it seems he has none! So he is unable to assist if u are being bullied. Dept. Of labor comes in decides the hospital HAS been denying FMLA. SUIT AGAINST St Dom woe. Virtually no Chang.

I have been working at St. Dominic's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Wonderful coworkers that care about me inside and outside of the hospital. The patients are generally kind and satisfiable. Plenty of shift options.

    Cons

Understaffed and overcrowded can often lead to unnecessary stressful situations. Miscommunication amongst departments happens from time to time. Packed out hospital floors and/or units leads to holds in the ER overnight on a fairly routine basis.

    Advice to Management

Hire more employees to help the ER run more efficiently.

I have been working at St. Dominic's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Friendly coworkers, gymn on site

    Cons

    1. I have to park at another St. Dominic campus several miles away and take a shuttle bus to and from the main hospital in the morning and afternoon. If anything comes up during the day I have to arrange a ride out to my car.
    2. Really cramped working environment.

    Advice to Management

Fix the parking situation. The wait time to move to the garage across the street from the hospital is over two years.
