I have been working at St. Elizabeth (Louisiana) full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people here are like family. I would work here for the rest of my life if they would pay. Great leaders.

    Cons

Pay. I get 10 dollars more an hour 30 mins down the road. Cafeteria is not the best. Please get with 2016 pay rates.

    Advice to Management

Quit saying "we are in the Baton Rouge market" when it comes to paying staff. You are in the Gonzales market make your own pay rates.

I worked here for a year and liked it overall. Most of the people were friendly. I liked my stay here, overall.

    Cons

Seemed a little understaffed at times.

    Advice to Management

    Create some more positions.

I have been working at St. Elizabeth (Louisiana) full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

St. Elizabeth has a family environment in which the employees value each other and they take care of one another on a variety of levels.

    Cons

The pay is not up to standards and the benefits are limited considering the type of facility it is.

    Advice to Management

Include your employees in the bottom line and you will begin to maintain a larger number.

I worked at St. Elizabeth (Louisiana) full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The people as a whole are absolutely amazing. I consider them my family.
They provided me with multiple growth opportunities and my career has benefited tremendously.

    Cons

Pay could be better, but they are making some strides
Increased accountability for team members- rid the organization of people who are underperformers

    Advice to Management

Keep up what made STE great- the culture, the passion, and the family atmosphere.
Work to improve accountability and provide a bit more direction on strategic direction and vision to the front-line staff

    Pros

Decent pay and benefits. My floor is a nice floor to work on, however not so much on some of the other units.

    Cons

The doctors are not held accountable for their behavior and attitude at times, and neither are some of the employees. Oh and the onlyy hospital the insurance covers is SEHC.

    Advice to Management

    Better raises and insurance

    Pros

The Employees are great caring people, Most of us are there because of the patients

    Cons

The communications between management and staff are almost non-existent.
    Staffing is horrible

    Advice to Management

Instead of cutting staff to save money, you may want to add it. Because the reason patients do not return is due to lack of care givers.

    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

The pay is good and benefits are excellent and affordable, including a 100% employer-paid retirement plan after five years of employment.

    Cons

The usual corporate excesses, including over-indoctrination of the corporate mission, mandatory meetings and motivational seminars, inflexible management, and the most common complaint in corporate America, "too many chiefs and not enough indians". Most new employees, even department managers and other professionals, stay just long enough to screw things up for everyone else, then leave for "greener pastures". The high employee turnover negatively affects employee morale, which management then tries to correct with mandatory motivational seminars and other attempts to mold employees in the corporate image.

    Advice to Management

Hold tyrannical managers accountable for extremely high employee turnover. Most employees do not leave St. Elizabeth because of dissatisfaction with pay or benefits, but because of an atmosphere of favoritism toward old Riverview Hospital employees who were there when Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System bought the facility in 2000.
