I have been working at St. Joseph Health System full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    -Positive work culture
    -Flexible hours
-Management instills a sense of community
    -Work-life balance

    Cons

    -Minimal annual raises
    -No path for career advancement
-Lack of respect/communication of central teams for the remote IT teams.

    Advice to Management

Eliminating positions and not re-hiring for individuals that have left the company puts a burden on the teams that are impacted. It seems that management is aware, but nothing is being done.

I have been working at St. Joseph Health System full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Working for St Joseph Health is not great nor is it terrible. They do provide a safe working environment and several days a month, the drug reps come in to provide us with lunch. They also offer an incentive exercise plan that you utilize on your phone to calculate your daily exercise and progress.

    Cons

Extremely low pay scale. Pennies for annual raises, very heavy work loads for Medical Assistants. When a coworker calls out, they do not have someone come in their place to cover, they expect the other MA's to absorb that extra work and this causes so much daily stress and resentment. There is no accountability to the staff that regularly call in sick, so as an MA you get burned out fast.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees with respect. Value the quality work they provide and hold the unreliable staff accountable for their weekly absences. Don't overload your staff. If you want quality staff to stay with the company, invest in us and show your appreciation. Thank you.
