I have been working at St. Joseph's Health full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Knowledgeable in all medical/surgical experience. 30yrs of in hospital care, working with all interdisciplinary units within a hospital setting. To provide the safest, educational, and future care of the patient and their care providers. I am ons/onc, cpr, and acls certified at this time.

    Cons

I am patient advocate and with the medical system changing daily with reimbursements I find difficult to except but I am a team player and work with change of the medical system, acceptance of the way the world is changing. It's just how things are. I hope you can accept my thoughts. I am on board with anything that must be done to achieve the organization continued care given of their clients.

I have been working at St. Joseph's Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are some great nurses, pcas, doctors and managers. Departments vary of course but the department I'm in has a great manager and the nursing staff gets along well and help each other. Overtime is possible to get if you want it. Health insurance isn't bad. Your orientation is 3 months which is good. Easy to transfer to another department after your 1 year of employment.

    Cons

Again, departments can vary. There are some managers that aren't as easy going as mine, the pay is low and the patient can be a challenge. There are periods in the year where the whole hospital is understaffed and you can feel it.

    Advice to Management

Incorporate the staff in more decisions when it involves them. Try to have more incentives to keep staff within St Joe's so they won't leave.

I have been working at St. Joseph's Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The organization is very committed to its employees satisfaction and provides an excellent environment to perform in - with engaging communication and leadership interactions. The is one of the best health systems in New Jersey.

    Cons

Like many charity care organizations - the health system is challenged only by its ability to care for everyone in need of care. Very impressive how they live their mission and values.

    Advice to Management

Very forward thinking and interactive management style - keep up the current culture and you will continue to be a world-class organization.
