I have been working at St. Jude Medical Center full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They treat their employees very well. There is a great sense of community and employee benefits. Most nurses are very happy to be working here.

    Cons

The pay is a little less than other hospitals like Kaiser Permanente, but I know nurses who work at both places and still prefer St. Jude Medical Center.

I worked at St. Jude Medical Center (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Up-to-date technology, Beautiful facilities, Good staff, Many opportunities to continue education, Ongoing training, fair practices, evidence based practices, good place to work. Many doctors are very kind.

    Cons

The only con I can think of is the staffing ratios at times with extremely busy patients. Some doctors at times can be rude and no one seems to do anything about it. Lunch breaks should be a time of rest but you get in trouble if you lay your head down or choose to take a small nap.

    Advice to Management

Lunch breaks should be a time of rest. Staff should be allowed to use that time take a small nap to refresh their mind and energy without being penalized.

    Pros

The pros to working at Saint Jude's medical center is they salary, the staff as well as all of the patients/people I am able to offer help to.

I worked at St. Jude Medical Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

We are trusred, we work at our own pace, company is lienent, can ocassionally look at of cell phone for important messages from family or childs school, we watch ocassional Movies at Fridays, as long if ones work is completed daily no complaints from pharmacies or Patients you will get a raise. DR. is pleasant with a good personality.

    Cons

No matter how hard you work its not really reconized, you never really get a review, if you do its never by the supervising manager, The Dr. Might says a couple of kind words, but is mostly interested in your personal life. There is more than enough work to do, fast paced with not much help available, but good thing Dr will have patients booked for 30 to 45 minutes and only take 5 to 10 minutes with them witch gives you a fair chance to get your xray orders, lab forms and referrals done on the computer, not much help is available as the Manager is afflicted with so much work I had often see her comes in 1/2 hour to a hour early and often handles alot of xtra work for the Dr.

    Advice to Management

Management is as efficient as could be with all the hats this poor lady had, always available to go over our concerns, gives many chances. You run a pretty tight ship, go somewhere where you will be appriciated and maybe you wont have to put in all the extr hours.
