I have been working at St. Julien Hotel & Spa full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Benefits and insurance available . Close location to home. Very friendly employees. Beautiful view and property. Wonderful massage therapists and estititions and spa staff . Wonderful restaurant and menus.

    Cons

Very busy weekends and too many guests and not an adequate amount of staff in many departments. Turnover of new hires is pretty quick.

    Advice to Management

To hire older, more mature employees, with unchanging schedules. Compensate very worthy and hardworking department employees and give positive feedback .

I have been working at St. Julien Hotel & Spa full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

St Julien Hotel is an amazing hotel located in an amazing city. I have a degree in hospitality and have worked in management at hotels now for over 10 years and the St Julien Hotel is by far the best hotel I’ve worked for. As an independent hotel we have the opportunity to work closely with our hotel ownership. The overall value and culture of the hotel is set by our ownership and it is carried through to the Executive Team, the Human Resource Department and all Staff at the Hotel.

    Cons

As an independent boutique hotel, there are definitely opportunities for growth/advancement, however it can take a little longer than it would at a larger corporate ran hotel.

I have been working at St. Julien Hotel & Spa full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Amazing co-workers, great employee perks, and a great General Manager who really cares about his employees.

    Cons

The health benefits could be better and departments as well as department heads need to work on communication.

    Advice to Management

Be more active in creating and maintaining the culture of St Julien.

    Pros

    Awesome management in Jill's Restaurant
    Perks and Benefits

    Cons

Little room for advancement. Management positions rarely opened due to low turnover. Good for them, but not for those who are eager to move up.

I worked at St. Julien Hotel & Spa part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good flow of clients when the rest of Boulder is slow. Gives the young therapist a great opportunity to get lots of people under their hands as a stepping stone to starting a private practice.

    Cons

Like any professional massage scene there's a risk of being overworked and burning out, but I don't recommend it at a long-term position anyway. Do 2-3 years and then strike out on your own.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing and advocating for Spa staff

    Pros

Great pay, drive very nice cars, the work is pretty easy and all the employees that work there are great

    Cons

You are standing all day long so sometimes your feet and back hurt and when it is really cold outside you still have to go out there so dress warm!

    Advice to Management

Put heaters outside so the ice melts
