    I worked at St. Michael's Hospital full-time

    Pros

Good housekeeping. Sorry that was all I could think of.

    Cons

    1) No management. They can't keep a unit manager so they use temp managers that hold other positions already in the hospital. So expect the bare minimum. 2) there is no comraderie among staff at all. Even better they look for stuff on each other to bring back to upper management in order to get some type of recognition 3) not the safest environment; security sits in a room monitoring the TV's (one which includes a cable TV), more on the defensive rather than offensive.. meaning you'll get attacked by a patient and then they come running rather than being present to prevent issues. 4) if you like an environment where it's the norm that patients talk to you like a piece of garbage and you go home hating humanity just a little bit more everyday then this is the place for you. 5) no reliable resources for the patients so guess who gets stuck telling them you're on your own (see #4) 6) who likes parking in an employee lot that's 3 blocks away and you still get to pay for it?!?

    Advice to Management

Be prepared to deal with some fun hospital politics. 8 managers in 5 years should give you a pretty good idea about this place.

    Pros

Gained experience, the change in people lives that I'm able to help. Learning new ways to handle different situations

    Cons

Close down scare, picking days to work days being changed without acknowledge of change. Favoritism. Nurses have no respect and except techave to do the work they need help with alone.

    Advice to Management

Being more open to the fact techs are people as well as nurses. Nurses should be helping the techs to get their meaning the nurses job done more efficiently
