I have been working at St. Thomas University full-time for more than 8 years

      Pros

There are committed faculty and is a lived mission that is vital and important. Staff are mostly cooperative.

      Cons

The upper administration has created a sick working environment. Hires for executive jobs are not done through national searches. There is a crony atmosphere among admin., who don't understand Catholic higher education and don't care about the social mission of the university. It's very frustrating to see one set of written policies and goals and another set that work on the ground. Frankly, it's the worst kind of management...

          Pros

You felt very valuable and you had extensive training to be able to deliver tours successfully. SUpervisors are amazing and they are very happy to accommodate to your schedule

          Cons

you didn't have enough hours to be able to rely on it as a legitimate source of income. Depending on the time of the year you could get a lot of hours or none at all.
