I worked at St. Vincent's Hospital for more than 3 years

    Pros

If you can get on, great place to work.

    Cons

My manager turned director was verbally derogatory and discriminatory in who he promoted. You had to be Catholic to get anywhere there as he would openly brag about that all the time.

    Advice to Management

    Fire that jerk!

    Pros

-usually get paid -opportunities to advance in your career, provided you get on the good side of the right people

    Cons

-toxic culture, bullying is rife -expected to do excessive unpaid overtime -prominent antiquated Catholic values which are contradictory to the needs of much of the clientele serviced in this catchment area

    Advice to Management

-i have none as they (management) change yet they stay the same so not much point

I have been working at St. Vincent's Hospital full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Wonderful hospital to work for. Good culture. Varied roles available from inpatient to community psych to correctional health.

    Cons

Hard to justify it's view on abortion and birth control, secondary to its catholic heritage, in this day and age - but it is a Catholic hospital so get used to it.
