I worked at Stagecoach full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I cannot see any other than it is only a job and helps to pay a living but other than that nothing.

    Cons

The staff turnover is very high & that fact proves that they don't care about the employee.

    Advice to Management

    Change the bullying culture.

I worked at Stagecoach full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Reasonable rate of pay compared to other bus companies. Work mates tend to be a cheerful & friendly bunch. You have to work some split day shifts but not night shifts.

    Cons

Every time you scratch or damage a bus in any way leads you to being ratcheted up another notch on the disciplinary system. If you have been trained by them to pass the bus driving test then if you reach the end of the disciplinary system & are sacked within 2 years of employment then they force you to repay the cost of training; even though they have taken away your livelihood!

    Very low staff morale
Management are only there to discipline you

I worked at Stagecoach full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The drivers all help each other out,the majority of passengers are nice people and a pleasure to be with. The pay is good, although you tend to work long hours.

    Cons

Drivers never get any support from the management and you are automatically blamed for any accident until you are proven innocent. The hours can be very long on local service as the don't use a tachograph and are not under the same rules.

    Advice to Management

value your drivers, without them you have no business.

  9. "Not the best or the worst"

    Pros

Extra weeks holiday after 5 years service, payed on time every week,

    Cons

Is to much unpaid time on the shifts, management style appears to be more about breaking staff moral than anything else..shift work as to be expected in bus driving but not well structured shift pattens.

    Advice to Management

losing to many good staff by not caring about them day to day and with style of management . stagecoach attitude seems to be they are easily replaced but this is a quite short sighted view considering nature of the job.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Clear out a lot of higher management and replace with people who know the job and respect their staff
