    Pros

Stamford is the optimum of meritocracy in which employee’s contributions to the organisation are recognised and valued. Employees are encouraged to take ownership and responsibility in a support environment and in return are rewarded based on merit. In my experience reward is in direct proportion to the individuals abilities and efforts. A great company to work for if you’re willing to work hard.

    Cons

A boutique culture that may not fit everyone however with the right attitude, lots of dedication and hard work it’s an environment to shine.

I have been working at Stamford Associates Limited full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Exposure to some of the best investors in the world. New, exciting business strategy that is being implemented at pace. Boutique atmosphere that means you can have a real impact. Strong relationship with main client.

    Cons

Can be very intense in the run up to deadlines. Some strong characters, but their impact is reducing thanks to the new direction and new people.

    Advice to Management

The new direction is working - keep going.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Stamford Associates Limited full-time

    Pros

Strong investment philosophy, solid process and the ability to seek out, meet and speak with some of the best portfolio managers in the business. I arrived here a few years after graduation and have learned a great deal during my time here, largely down to the exhaustive research process. The firm is smaller than other investment consultancies but with that you have more more responsibility and exposure to the decision making process.

    Cons

Relatively small company with around 30 employees so if you like the hustle and bustle of the big company and the City social scene you might find it quiet here.

    Pros

It's a meritocracy. The decision on whether you like it there is binary: either you do or you don't. If you don't then everything is wrong. If you do, then you see the value in what you do, how you do it, the learning you get from it, the career-enhancing opportunities it gives you and appreciate the above market salary and benefits.

    Cons

Work/life balance can go out of synch. You need to be focused and follow the processes and be intelectually ready to stand behind any reasons you have to change the status quo.

    Advice to Management

To focus on the knitting and business development. Social events have been good - they should do more of them.
