    Pros

It was a nice opportunity to get a real world experience

    Cons

Spent most of my time on tedious tasks such as fetching coffee and food
No one was really there to give me any guidance or tasks

    Advice to Management

We, interns, are there to provide any support and learn from you.

I have been working at Standard Chartered Bank full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - new, state of the art office in Midtown Manhattan

    Cons

    - zero work-life balance, even in non-client facing FCC roles (management has actually instituted a "work-life INTEGRATION" program rather than a balance
    - politics and internal strife
    - senior management out of touch with day to day operations and employee morale

    Advice to Management

Work-life integration is not something any potential or current employee desires. Treat employees fairly and they will want to succeed.

    Pros

Good experience and exposure. Good opportunity to work with the best in the industry.

The NY office culture is very competitive, so much so that you don't have a nice feeling working there. Everyone is very territorial and would gladly step on you to get on top.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the reference culture and assess candidates based on their experience and caliber.

Location of the actual building in NYC, which is off Bryant Park. This is the only redeeming quality of the New York office.
