I have been working at Standard Parking full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great team- cashiers, valet runners, front desk. Everyone is friendly and very welcoming when starting out. Supervisors are understanding about mistakes.

    Cons

Terrible communication between supervisors ( which trickles down to workers directly below them) , lack of communication between concierge and stores in the Americana.

From day one, I was only told when to show up. I never got proper training and direction. I was trained by a cashier who worked at this location for years but was never trained- so I'm learning her tricks. Supervisors will tell you different things/ protocol/ methods and you're left scrambling. I have spent most of my time here teaching myself and asking workers a lot of questions to learn.

Worst of all, I don't see action when asking the supervisors for help in fixing issues that cause customers to be angry at us.

    Advice to Management

Make sure to train cashiers properly and learn to be a cohesive team with proper communication.

    Pros

Good people to work for. Previous boss was very flexible and was willing to work with me on my schedule. Once in a posistion it is yours till bump (shift preference) season.

    Cons

Raises are once a year and usually only a quarter. Very little room for advancement. You can be bumped from your shift by someone with more seniority.

    Advice to Management

Better raise scale to keep up with cost of living. Get rid of shift preference. Provide uniforms (including slacks) to employees.

I have been working at Standard Parking part-time

    Pros

The hours are consistent and there's some flexibility with scheduling.

    Cons

The pay is poor, which is alright because the work required is minimal, but it's really not a stimulating job.
