      Pros

I felt like Stanford cared about me, they had great benefits, there are lots of amenities, they invest in their employees through education, wellness programs, training and building community.

      Cons

Like ALL bay area employers, pay versus cost of living in the area may not be satisfactory depending on your position.

      Good exposure but overinflated locality

      Pros

Exposure is amazing, and collaboration among researchers is nice.

      Cons

Stanford doesn't provide much to improve the quality of life for postdocs in terms of perks. Health insurance is good, but the housing provided by them leaves much to be desired. And housing will eat 50 to 60% of your income even if you live in a shoddy neighborhood in the bay area.
