I worked at Stanford University full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good benefits Beautiful campus Fun staff programs and activities Stability, it's hard to get fired from Stanford Pretty good work/life balance

    Cons

the Staff/Faculty dynamic is pretty horrible - some faculty members pretty much get away with murder and they are not held accountable for their actions Low pay Not many opportunities for growth Stagnate learning environment, not very challenging Very siloed - inconsistent titles, job duties and pay across different departments

    Advice to Management

Do what you teach, there's a lot of hypocrisy going on and it's pretty disappointing.

I have been working at Stanford University full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Stanford cares about employee happiness, plenty of opportunities to learn and advance, and you get to work on a beautiful campus.

    Cons

Big enough to be bureaucratic at times. Paying for parking at your place of employment is ridiculous... However, this is not unique to Stanford.
