I worked at Stantec full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good work life balance. Good pay.

    Cons

Unethical leadership Constant lies to staff and clients Constant corporate restructuring Too many buy outs Too many bosses

    Advice to Management

Quit buying new firms. The constant restructuring and leadership changes kills the moral. Stop having your staff lie to clients in order to make Stantec look good. Change your mission statement because you do not “Do What Is Right”. Stop putting shareholders before clients and staff. Quit telling firms that you are acquiring that “nothing changes but logos and email addresses”. Every buyout generates an new level of leadership and restructures the existing staff. This is why your good leaders leave as soon as their contract from the buyout is over.

I worked at Stantec full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Good benefits, convenient work locations.

    Cons

Double standards, claim that they do what is right, however the truth is they count the breath you take. Client needs aren't met often without a hefty price to pay. Staff gets the negative, bosses get the glory.

    Advice to Management

Move from an accounting-based company to a real design company.

I worked at Stantec for more than a year

    Pros

Good holiday schedule and OK benefits. The company also has good community outreach efforts.ability to work remotely.

    Cons

After the merger, your design leadership will loose focus on the local market, your resources will be spread out to other offices in the organization. The gradual removal of the personal factor within your office will drive talented staff to competition. Business management model is bottom line driven and much focused on profitability.

    Advice to Management

If you allow the gradual erosion of the unique company culture that made you a success PRIOR to the merger into Stantec, you will continue to see talented and driven staff walk to find greener pastures. Do not forget the people who brought you here and celebrate their talents and give recognition!
