I have been working at Stantec full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good company to work with. Has a good benefits package. Participates in work share between departments. Flexible hours. Good amount of paid time off.

    Cons

Project Managers can be scarce a lot it seems. Advancement through the company is pretty much key to yourself, solely. Unless you have a degree, you better enjoy your position you come into the company in.

    Advice to Management

Actually put time into employee advancement.

I worked at Stantec full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pro's are if they decide to keep you then you can enjoy the corporate life for awhile.

    Cons

If they decide to keep you then you hold your breathe each quarter then their profit is not enough for the shareholders so someone has to go.

    Advice to Management

Keep paying the bonuses and adding the perks because the work lifestyle provided wears on the employees quick. Also a complete overhaul of upper management is needed, the managers brought on from acquisitions are not qualified. Atleast in the North East.

I have been working at Stantec full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people, good projects, opportunities at major cities. There is a great office culture at some office locations. Compensation package is comparable to other mid-to large AE firms.

    Cons

This company is expanding their operations thru un-controlled acquisitions. The integration process is a nightmare. A lot of unnecessary corporate procedures, training and forms need to be filled.

    Advice to Management

Be more engaged on the day to day aspects of the practice. Not everything is profit. Get to know your pears and their interest. Strengthen the culture by promoting company events.
