I have been working at Staples full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Overall, I worked with some of the nicest, happiest, and most talented people out of all the people I've worked with in my career.

    Cons

Unfortunately, Staples is a paper company in a digital age. While they have a huge dot-com business, their product mix, physical presence, and bloated executive ranks are not optimized for today's lean/agile era.

    Advice to Management

Do something drastic about the products you sell and how -- average store employees are miserable, the company is failing, and everyone knows it.

I have been working at Staples full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Serious about taking care of their employees. Wonderful benefits.
Great communication between management and associates. Committed to community involvement. I am proud to work for such a civic minded and people centric company!

    Cons

First week was a bit intimidating and more guidance would have been appreciated. For such a large corporate building, a campus map would have been very useful in that first couple of weeks. This would have prevented a lot of wasted time.

    Advice to Management

My only advice would be to create a campus map that would enable new employees to navigate their way around campus for the first week or two.

    Pros

Great culture among the sales teams and no cap on how much you can make. Most of the week is spent out of the office.

    Cons

High standards and a ton of time spent on the road. Depending on the territory, you could spend hours a day driving between meetings.

I have been working at Staples full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Excellent coworkers, effective collaborative experiences, work is consistently done with goals and key strategies in mind. Excellent communication from Leadership.

    Cons

HR was a little slow once the offer was made, but individual department stepped in to rectify. Occasional whiplash with regard to priority of projects - work really hard for "this" only to learn "this" is being postponed and "the next thing" is most important now.

    Advice to Management

Stick with the 20/20 plan. It has excellent potential.
