I have been working at Star Entertainment Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    * Great culture and colleagues (both inter and intra departments) * Interesting and constantly changing environment

    Cons

    * Some projects weren't well managed and poorly handed over * Decisions from upper management are puzzling at times * Unclear progression lines for corporate staff

    Advice to Management

Don't forget to frontline support the teams who support your frontlines. If you increase the frontlines, you will increase the workload of the frontline support teams.

I have been working at Star Entertainment Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Within Marketing, you'll be surrounded by experienced staff and generally great people. Lot's of exciting projects to sink your teeth into as The Star is going through major transformations.

    Cons

Highly lacking process and resources. While the team is fairly large, the amount of campaigns live at one time and the wide range of offers and communication required for each campaign makes The Star the busiest and most intense workplace I have encountered. The opinion is shared widely across the business. There are many stakeholders to consider and lots of chiefs and not enough workers. The business is filled with... lots of hardworking staff, however the pace of the business makes it hard to recognise good work. Errors, which are bound to happen to the best of us when working at such pace, are noticed though. Because of the pace, high pressure to perform (especially as it prepares for The Crown) and high chance of slipping up on occasion, there is a blame culture present where everyone is looking out for themselves ensuring they are never solely to blame for something that didn't quite go to plan.

    Advice to Management

Look after your staff. Plan your yearly marketing plan well and stick to it to ensure the team can prepare well in advance. Reconsider the strategy for your campaigns (Brand vs. Tactical). Don't be afraid to present learnings from unsuccessful campaigns to the leaders, rather than agreeing to repeat with only small tweaks.
