I have been working at Starbucks part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The most close-knit working community you're ever going to find. Full tuition reimbursement for my undergrad through ASU online. Great health benefits; helped me get through chemotherapy financially and when I came back, my boss gave me solid hours. Lots of opportunities to be a positive influence on your community/other people.

    Cons

Stressful at times. Lots of rude, entitled customers who don't know how to interact with customer service workers.

    Advice to Management

My SM is awesome and believes in creating a happy work environment so that we can do our best for our customers. Always show your partners that they are valued and they will gladly give you 100% !

I worked at Starbucks full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fun culture. Learn lots about coffee and running a business. Burn lots of calories running around.

    Cons

Too many daily changes to routines, recipes and literally everything else. Too many hours and too many early hours. They expect the world from you but will not compensate you accordingly.

    Advice to Management

Work a shift with your management team once a week so you know how things at the store level actually happen instead of sitting there taking notes. Pay your employees better instead of just offering them ridiculous perks. Better pay will attract better employees! Do away with all of the metrics for measuring performance and just focus on good customer service. Stop all of the insane liberal programs that make Starbucks sound so progressive (#RaceTogether).

I have been working at Starbucks part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Free coffee! It is a great job for teenagers starting to be in their way. Money is not too bad.

    Cons

It's very fast paced and you need to be a hard worker. You can't be lazy if you want to work here.

    Advice to Management

Always encourage baristas, it's not as easy job as you know.

I have been working at Starbucks full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's great if you like a fast-paced work environment. I love tedious work, and staying busy so it's great for me. You get amazing benefits. Free drinks and a food item every shift, as well as a free pound of beans every week. I got stock after a year, they offer benefits to everyone, even part time. They offer free online school through ASU. You accumulate vacation hours and you get raises every year (or 6 months?) I believe. If you're a hard worker there is a lot of room for you to grow in the company. I just got offered a position for supervisor after working there for 2 and a half years. I was also previously a trainer, where I would get a bonus for every person I trained.

    Cons

Tedious work is also a con if you're not into that. You have to be VERY customer service oriented, they care more about that than anything. There are sometimes expectations from your manager or district manager that are very high and just impossible. You are very often short handed depending on your management, but honestly the DM can be at fault for that a lot of times. It can really take a toll on you if you're not ready for it. There's simply people who can do this job, and some that can't.

I have been working at Starbucks full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are plenty of pros to working here as a high school or college student. Endless amounts of coffee, free food while you work, a free spotify account. Benefits are really good and they recently changed our dress code. It's great for a part time job to get some extra cash in your pocket since you get tips too.

    Cons

I love Starbucks OVERALL as a company. They do amazing things. My issue is with managers because they are allowed the freedom to run their store the way they want, and sometimes they do what is in their best interest instead of their partners. As a 3 year parter who has been a shift for 2.5 years, I absolutely detest my job and no longer want to move up. Being a shift is more stress than it's worth. Although I work FT, I know part time partners who get their hours cut if they make a single mistake. Lots of favoritism. Lots of drama. It's a great part time job but definitely not a great full time job.

    Advice to Management

Be a little more empathetic towards your partners.

I have been working at Starbucks full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are so many benefits for every employee, you just have to actually look for them or ask for help finding them.

    Cons

Customers are not understanding and tend to know how to work the system to get free things and make your life difficult.

    Advice to Management

Be a little more understanding with partners, not just customers.
