I worked at Starbucks part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I feel that all things being equal Starbucks aims to treat its employees relatively well, has health benefits, stock options, and opportunities to move upward if you are able and willing to put in the time and get things accomplished.

    Cons

Schedule management is tough and getting 40 hours can be tough when going into overtime is not generally allowed. Promotion to Shift Manager is feasible, but store Managers often seem to be outside hires regardless of what is theoretically possible.

    Advice to Management

Be more realistic in the fad of the moment and in terms of what employees can actually accomplish. Adding more and more lists to fill out and things to do doesn't help with the customer experience or make the store any cleaner. Instead, work to support the employee buy-in to the space that Starbucks is trying to create.

Great company that really respects their workers. They do listen. Great flexibility for college students. Awesome environment if you bond with your coworkers/customers. Also incredible benefits for part time workers (min 20 hrs/week)

    Cons
