I have been working at Starcom Worldwide full-time

    Pros

Smart people, a relaxed environment and great perks

    Cons

Relatively low pay, promotion process is long and very structured. During my last promotion I asked for a small incremental raise above the base salary. I was told this wouldn't be a problem. When the promotion finally occured no additional raise was given. When I confronted management nothing was done to remedy the situation. It's not that anyone has bad intent, it's just difficult to change such a large companies processes.

    Advice to Management

I know there are many associates at Starcom but there needs to be better ability for top performers to move up more quickly or at least receive performance based raises. Overall working at Starcom has been great. But the slow turning wheel makes it difficult to see a long term career here.

    Pros

Starcom really cares about your career goals and aspirations. They want you to get the best and most well-rounded experience in media and have embedded that into their culture. They rotate employees from teams and positions fairly quickly for you to advance in your knowledge of the industry.

    Cons

Associates do a lot for how much we're paid. I don't work long hours everyday, but there are periods where the work piles up. But it's all a by client basis.

A great place to gain a lot of industry experience and knowledge and to start out.

    Cons

Management in NYC office is poor at communicating and does not provide entry level talent with much guidance. In addition, there is a high turnover rate for talent and often disrespect from upper management. Questions are often not answered and little guidance is given.
