Starwood is a very diverse company. It gives you all the correct tools to achieve your goals and allows you to work with a great group of people. Starwood also has a development programs with modules to either further you education, or to learn more about where the company is heading and how well we're doing.

    Cons

Information is not always given in enough time and sometimes make it difficult to do your job. We push head regardless.

    Pros

Attracted THE most talented and creative people in the corporate hospitality industry. Used to be a great creative and innovative environment for young talent. The sexiest brands and most desirable hotels. Generous employee discounts at properties. Used to have senior leaders who fostered young talent and believed in the potential of the next generation of thought leaders. It's like what Miranda Priestley says at the end of Devil Wears Prada: Everybody wants to be us.

    Cons

Unfortunately, the loss of key visionary senior leaders, terrible HR, and spiraling corporate culture meant that all that young talent was taken for granted and snatched away by competitors who offered tangible growth opportunities and better salaries (without having to beg). What you were left with were remnants of the hospitality days of yore; senior members who have been around forever, too afraid to take chances, doing the same things over and over again, just waiting for retirement. Now the competitors have used the Starwood talent they've recruited, caught up to a once untouchable hospitality brand powerhouse, and the sale the Marriott is simply the ultimate inevitable outcome of this.

    Pros

For me learning is very important, with this company you will always be learning new things, although it could be a little complicated for others, because every time you fully learned, something new comes out. Good benefits and hotel discounts

    Cons

Cafeteria, barely ate in the cafeteria, dirty, and no taste, it is not a matter of eating fancy. But at least clean and even if it is eggs and rice, make sure you do it with love.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to your cafeterias, specially in NY where it is cold, and not enough to go every day and eat outside, just because whoever cooks, doesnt really like their job.
