I worked at Starwood Hotels & Resorts full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

This was a good company until they were bought out

    Cons

The senior leadership team decided to cash in for themselves and sell out so that thousands lost their jobs. You decide if you value this type of company.

    Advice to Management

It's heartbreaking that your staff cared more about the company than the shareholders who sold out for cash

I worked at Starwood Hotels & Resorts full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Easy to progress farther (only in sales department), company discounts, activities, and other misc. perks, can work from home.

    Cons

Shifts start 3:30pm- midnight (other randomly open up, lottery numbers drawn), sales based bonuses, very strict time management (monitored by the second), sometimes not enough cubicles for workers, impossible to transfer departments without supervisor guidance, experience is entirely dependent on who you get as a supervisor, constant drama, only eligible for FMLA if you have worked there for a year+.

    Advice to Management

Hold supervisors to the same standards as employees.
