I worked at Starwood Hotels & Resorts full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Overall it was a great experience. Co workers, management, benefits, free lunch, opportunities to learn new things. Met really good people and made great friends.

    Cons

Sometimes the work load was too much and became very hard to deal with customers and guests. Other times management did not look they cared at all.

They did an awesome job training me straight out of school. Everyone was really nice.

I have been working at Starwood Hotels & Resorts full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Challenging environment, innovative projects, great industry and very nice people

    Cons

Teams morale in corporate office is very low after we got acquired by Marriott, hard to get things done, many people leaving

  10. "Director"

I worked at Starwood Hotels & Resorts full-time

    Pros

Very innovative and interesting company under the leadership teams in place until 2012.

    Cons

Once it was announced that the company was considering strategic alternatives it became difficult (understandably) to work in the corporate environment.

    Advice to Management

Since the company has been acquired by Marriott and the leadership disbanded there is really no advice to offer. The rise and fall of this company should be an HBS case study.
