I have been working at Starwood Hotels & Resorts full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Flat hierarchy -- you could talk to the C-Suite or close to it. Autonomy with accountability, not micro-management. Everyone had a lets figure this out and make it work attitude (little to no arrogant egomaniacs). Recognition for promotions. Work/life balance. Better pay than most companies (leaving was hard for many)

    Cons

Driving on 95 to get to Stamford CT

I have been working at Starwood Hotels & Resorts full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great curriculum! The online training is top notch for students wanting to pursue the hospitality.

    Cons

Work/Life balance (be prepared to work 50-55 hours/week if not more), Operational demands overtaking Voyage curriculum demands, Starwood-to-Marriott transitional difficulties and misunderstandings, Management at SPG properties having NO IDEA how to train a Marriott Voyager besides throwing them into operations and seeing them either swim or drown.

    Advice to Management

PLEASE, to all SPG Managers receiving new Voyagers at your property, retrain yourself on the Voyager curriculum... This will help all Voyagers feel they can achieve operational and educational success throughout the program.
