I have been working at State Bank of India full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Not a very Demanding job, not very meaningful either.

    Cons

Absolutely no for MBAs or those aspiring to make their careers in anything other than sales. No utilization of knowledge, every non sales person is a glorified office clerk, with varying titles and designations. Lack of transparency in HR practices.

I have been working at State Bank of India full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Nothing at all. Just good number of leaves and that too depends upon your boss, if he approves it or not. That's all.

    Cons

    1. Waste of career 2. No location preference given 3. Only Head Office is the place which is good enough. Else all other Regional Offices where MBAs are posted are full of politics. 4. MTs are pressurised a lot in terms of work load and timings. 5. Non MTs hate MTs. 6. Senior management not good at all in many locations. 7. They make you sit for 9-9 though HR policies say till 6:30 8. Only Excel work. Nothing to learn. 9. Sales driven. Specially Regional Directors will push you for sales. 10. HR is totally powerless. 11. Less salary compared to industry.

I have been working at State Bank of India for more than a year

    Pros

Get brand name on CV. Leave as soon as possible. Lot of freedom to do your job with no result, as the management and structure is so complex that implementation is not possible.

    Cons

You do not belong among the employees. You are a contractual employee. Employee Engagement Nil. Salary meager. Half of the organization is doing the same thing all day which if given to any undergraduate college graduate, it may take only half an hour. Just for the sake of competition that other private banks are taking MTs, they have started the same.

I worked at State Bank of India full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    1) Leaves(around 35 in a year) in which 9 block leaves 2) comparatively better work life balance for corporate office compared to regional offices and branch offices.. 3) brand value 4) can't even think of any other pros

    Cons

    1) for god sake stop recruiting management trainees as the salary that you give to MTs is less compared to industry standards. Also cheap politics is being played with MTs for their promotion and ratings. 2) often the profile that is given to MTs is of less quality. At the time of interview, the profile that is communicated and finally what is being given there is huge gap... 3) Non MT people treat MTs as their number one enemies 4) worst HR policies, HR is not at all transparent 5) no learning for MTs apart from doing MIS jobs 6) not good for long term growth 7) sales driven company, if you are inclined towards sales then this is best company for you. 8) be ready for less ratings if you are Management Trainee.
