I have been working at State Farm as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Working in a small agents office is a great way to gain experience. Other departments are there to help with any questions or problems that arise.

    Cons

Long waits on the phone for often times a 30 second question. It would cost me a lot of time and set me back on my work that I had to do for that day.

    Advice to Management

Manage wait times for departments better. It costs us a lot of valuable work time.

Lie about how good agent oppertunity really is

    Advice to Management

    Listen to agents ideas
Get out of the bank business.

    Pros

Good experience builder to move on to better sales opportunities. Use it as a springboard if you have to but walk away if you can as well.

    Cons

Poor advancement opportunities unless you want to become an agent aka State Farm robot. Pathetic vacation allowance. Pay is not great either.

    Advice to Management

Give people some vacation. This country is a joke when it comes to vacation time. I don't count working 51 weeks and then being given a week off as a life.
