A mediocre desk job with a poor outlook for opportunity moving forward
Apr 16, 2015 - Claims Adjuster in Malta, NYRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Decent benefits, it gave a paycheck.
Cons
The new model they are moving into called 'future state' is awful and is basically big brother on steroids. Every little thing you do is regulated and work life balance is a joke with majority of shifts moving to late night 1-9 pm for 6 months at a time. Poor outlook for career advancement with how they regulate where and when you can apply.

I love that they are strong in keeping work life balance and company promotions of doing the right thing.
Cons
I am not fond of the leadership style; feel middle leadership is antiquated and relatively no vision.

Great Company

State Farm has awesome compensation and benefits. They offer great work life balance and it's a company you will want to stay at.
Cons
With the company being so large, it can be overwhelming for new hires to become accustomed to the culture and organization of the company.

Pros
Competitive pay and multiple shifts.
Cons
Can’t chose your chord. No work/life balance and lack of sympathy when it comes to unavoidable absences (including FMLA and ADA leaves)

Started off great now I need to leave

Loved my time in training. The trainers made it enjoyable, I enjoy we get PTO
Cons
Literally no growth in this role. They want your metrics to increase, but won’t pay you more for the increase in productivity. You may have a college degree and proven ability in this role, but that is not enough for the “professional roles.” We had guest speakers that have been with the company for 20-30 years share how great working here has been for them, but that couldn’t be further from the truth for those with 1-2 years with the company. There is no growth opportunities and your told by management that moving upward from this role is extremely difficult implying that’s it’s not possible. Work life balance has gone out the window with the mandatory overtime which has been going on over 6 months. It’s not mandatory though, they refer to it as an expectation. CCC has such a bad wrap justifiably so, however this position will do the same to you but at slower pace. Especially if you want to move upward and have decent pay for the increase in workload.

Good Work Life Balance, Meh Benefits
Sep 5, 2018 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great work life balance and I hardly ever feel like I have to stay for overtime. Projects are well managed.
Cons
Benefits are not up to par of industry

Wish I could have stayed until FULL retirement.

They try to be very open about the direction of the company. Very family oriented and they try to provide benefits to match. There is great work life balance in that you are not pressured to work overtime constantly. Company communicates well where changes are on the horizon.
Cons
If you aren't mobile to Dallas, Phoenix or Atlanta, your job really isn't safe.

Pros
The job is interesting. You learn new things everyday. You are granted 40 hours of life leave a year in addition to your PTO.
Cons
Management in this department is horrible. They don’t recognize you as a human, only a robot. Unable to provide effective communication. Their approach isn’t polite and it’s all about numbers. The micromanaging is unbearable at times and the turnover rate has been excessively increasing. The recruiter does not tell you all the ins and outs about this role. Be prepared to work past your shift. If you are working on a claim and get off at 5, you have to stay until claim is finished. Claims in this department can be a hour long and sometimes 2hours depending on the situation. There is no work life balance and they do not care about your personal situations at home. You also can not use your PTO and if you need to schedule off, you have to do so 6 months in advance.
