    Pros

    Great team & working environment (team events organised a couple of times throughout the year); very interesting work / projects ; good benefits (including educational assistance).

    Cons

    Long hours (work / life balance not really supported by management).
    Communication channels not always open (up / down).
    Big emphasis on the 'Millennials' to the detriment of the loyal and steadfast 'old-timers'...

    Advice to Management

    To put work / life balance concept properly into place within organisation.

    I have been working at State Street full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    * Top 5 largest Asset Managers globally
    * The firm covers all asset classes
    * Great pension contribution
    * Fantastic offices in Canary Wharf

    Cons

    The product offering has been losing ground at such a fast rate due to a lack of innovation. The business is so slow to make changes and innovation has been stifled by bureaucratic processes. Departments seem to have a can't do attitude, making it difficult to introduce any change, even for the better.

    Advice to Management

    Develop a culture were knowledge and excellence is rewarded. Too much managerial talk with very little understanding of underlying processes and investment industry knowledge. Hire people with a passion for investment management, and focus on retaining them.
