I worked at State of California - Department of Parks part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Really great experience working for State Parks because you get to be outdoors and meet people from all over the world. Free entry and camping at any State park was also a bonus.

    Cons

Long hours were spent inside of the kiosk by yourself.

I worked at State of California - Department of Parks part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great experience working with people and developing skills

    Cons

Takes months, if not years, to get any sort of maintenance done. Park ranger presence is near nil as well

    Advice to Management

Patrol the parks and fix things up, people are complaining and are going to stop coming. Schedule making also needs to be changed

I have been working at State of California - Department of Parks part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The building is amazing and the history is rich and very interesting. If anyone have a history degree such as myself or is just interested in California history, this is the place to work.

    Cons

Inconsistency of my schedule is a little frustrating, especially due to the fact that I share a car. Also, parking is a nightmare. There is no free parking except on the weekends.

    Advice to Management

Try to put out a consistent, set schedule.
