    Pros

As a law clerk, your job duties are very much tied to your specific judge. I have a great working relationship with my judge. This fact allows for much flexibility. The work load is manageable and interesting.

    Cons

Contract is year-to-year, which can be stressful if you are looking to make a career out of clerking. Delaware does not have "career clerks" like the federal system.

I worked at State of Delaware part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Access to training tools like LinkedIn Learning

    Cons

Company culture is very structure and apprehensive to change. Some processes are the same as decades ago and people will fight you if you merely suggest alternatives.

    Advice to Management

Training people one innovation and change management. Some people are there for an easy paycheck and benefits after retirement. Management may need to weed out underperformers, mediocre employees or toxic apples to turn the culture around. This is a huge undertaking since it is a government organization and the problem is systemic.
