    Pros

Paid time off depending on years of service
    Sick leave
Health insurance, vision and dental premiums for family are very well priced less than 250 a month.

    Paid training
Get paid to just screw off most of the time

No overtime comp time only people forced to offset time to avoid overtime.
No raises in sight. Too many chiefs not enough Indians. Bad attitudes and low morale due to low pay. No upwards mobility unless you move. Most laziest people I've ever worked with. Good old boy system. Bottom line if you want a easy job to get paid penny's to do nothing but bs work have at it....I'm out

Get people that actually want to lead by example

I worked at State of Florida Division of Forestry full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A great place to launch a career as a forester, particularly if your interest is in wildland fire management. Second-to-none state wildfire program in the Southeast, with great training and busy fire seasons.

    Cons

The primary downside is the pay. In south Florida, it's not really a living wage. The tight-fisted state government keeps it low, although it is probably better than the surrounding states. The system stays afloat because new foresters are willing to accept the pay for a few years, then move on to private sector or federal jobs.

    Advice to Management

Until/unless the financial side is improved, the personnel turnover will continue.
