    Foster Care is Impossible

    Pros

    - Good benefits - Loved my supervisor - Very clear path for upward mobility - All salaries are transparent

    Cons

    - You have to be an absolute super human to handle the job of a foster care case manager. I consider myself to handle stress exceptionally well and am a calm, collected, and organized person. But this position just absolutely tears you up physically, mentally, etc. I didn't even know it was possible for a job to be so incredibly difficult and exhausting. Now that I have a position elsewhere, i look back on the job and wonder how the State even allows it to exist the way that it does. The sheer amount of work expected from you each and every day is quite literally impossible to do in 40 hours per week. And the policies are so incredibly strict that you could be dying and they would make you do something or else you are in violation. can't even use PTO or sick days without doubling your work load before and doing meticulous planning with coworkers to the point that it's not even worth it. I took a pay cut to leave the job and i thank myself for it every time i think of it.

    IT’S JUST A JOB

May 6, 2022 - General Office Assistant in Detroit, MI

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Benefits, PTO, Flex Schedule, Easy work

    Cons

Very toxic work environment even when you try to stay to yourself. No real programs or opportunities for growth. If you work in a downtown area, your parking cost are $150/month+. Was never connected with the Union representative despite several attempts via direct supervisor and upper management.
