I worked at State of South Carolina

    Pros

Great training opportunities, room for growth within position, great work/life balance as the work week is 37.5 hours for FTE.

    Cons

Too much travel to Columbia for meetings that could have been conducted via netmeeting if the state would choose to use technology! Very slow to get things done. You had better work your way in to the good ole boy network or you'll never get promoted. Pay is ok, but you can make more doing the same job for private businesses.
