      Pros

Station Casinos is privately owned, which makes working here more friendly and personal than might otherwise be possible in a company with over 10,000 employees. Many people have been with the company for decades and some properties have a real 'family' feel because of it. Benefits are good, low-level managers (in my dept. at least) are competent and friendly and pay (in my field at least) is competitive. There's opportunity to learn things, expand your skillset or move into a different field entirely.

      Cons

Many people have been with the company for decades, so it can be hard to make them change. Combine that with the company being privately owned and it creates an opaque corporate culture where knowledge is held by key individuals but not shared with everybody else. There is no formal training in my department; new hires sink or swim with their ability to learn on the job. Too many projects are conceived and implemented by corporate managers who don't have knowledge of how things actually work at the individual properties (nothing unique here, I suppose). Pay and benefits are pretty good because Station wants to keep the unions out.

All depends on what part of company you work in

      Pros

pay is good, comparable to same position in other parts of country; if you get full-time, and that is a big "if", then benefits are good...medical, dental, eye; generally they will not ask for overtime, because they do not want to pay you at time an a half

      Cons

your job is that you do everything, if you are a banquet porter than you may have to clean up trash or do tasks to help the banquet servers who get gratuity and you do not; pay is not good when you compare to properties on the "strip"; you may not have a job and they will not give you any warning...they have done that in the past and they probably will do in future as long as they know they can get away with it

      Cons

Not a bad place to be.

      Pros

The culture, the executives makes you feel as if you are part of a family, good benefits and the ability to transfer to different departments or properties throughout the city.

      Cons

Attendance policy needs to be updated. Some salary team members haven't had a raise in a few years, but hourly team members are getting wage increases. This has put a damper on the positive attitudes in some department.

A company with great potential yet can't get consistent quality Manager.

      Pros

Very good benefits, and has a very loyal customer base. The team members were awesome to work with and felt very much like a family.

      Cons

Constant turnover specifically in the managerial positions which caused constant confusion and very little consistency. Definitely a entry-level casino to work at in Vegas.
