I have been working at StayWell full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I've been in the workforce for nearly 20 years and I can honestly say that StayWell has the best company culture I've ever experienced. This company really "walks the talk" when it comes to work life balance and employee wellness. I consider it an honor to be a part of the StayWell team. The guidance, training, opportunities and support I've received from the senior leadership team is a breath of fresh air compared to...

    Cons

The company is 80% remote, which is overwhelmingly a positive, but it does mean you have to be more intentional about creating a sense of community and camaraderie with your colleagues. As someone with supervisory responsibility, I've found that traditional practices of managing people have to be revisited for this remote work environment.

I have been working at StayWell full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

If you like a fast paced atmosphere where team is focused on making the company better and all ideas are considered and people are respected this place is for you. Understand that giving your best at all times is expected, but that it makes the team and the company better.

    Cons

70% of the company is virtual, which at times may cause issues with video conferencing or scheduling meetings due to time zones. You need to be deliberate about your own work-life balance. The company supports it, but you need to set your own boundries.

    Pros

Remote working environment provides work-life balance Onsite offices provide collaborative workspaces Quarterly town hall meetings and culture surveys provide employees with a voice Leadership is open to hearing new ideas and feedback and rewards employees for the submission of ideas that save StayWell time and money

    Cons

Working remotely isn't for everyone. Some people may not thrive in this environment - especially if they have a desire for micromanagement

I have been working at StayWell full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

BEAN time (30 min off) is a great bonus.

    Cons

Last 2 entries were obviously completed by SW mgmt in an attempt to improve SW's tarnished image. Pay increases have been 0.5% for the last 2 years, 1.0% the year before. No career advancement for those in entry- to mid-level positions. SW's philosophy has always been to hire employees with from outside the company with industry experience instead of developing its own employees .

    Advice to Management

My team is awesome. Yes, we've had a lot of changes, and that's true across the company. As hard as some of them have been, they're for the better for the organization. We've brought in a number of new and incredibly talented people, and it shows. I worked at StayWell full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Amazing people at the individual contributor level. Everyone is so pleasant and really truly trying their hardest to do the best job possible. BEAN time - this is truly brilliant. For those not in the know, Bean-time (well-being time), is a half-hour block during the middle of the day for employees to take a break. Meetings are not allowed to be scheduled during this period, and the intention is for employees to...

This company has so much potential that is sadly unexplored due to a petty, uninvolved, and uninformed senior leadership team that lacks experience, awareness, and follow-through, and thrives on building walls around their departments to protect their absolute, unquestioned authority. Advice to Management

    a) cross-functional alignment. Much of the dysfunction comes from every VP having different, and often conflicting priorities. b) bottom-up communication: The only means of communicating bottom-up is via the ridiculous culture survey. Train your leadership team on the true use of "management by objectives". c) problem solving: You don't know what the problems are, or what is causing them. Drop the shoot-the-...

I have been working at StayWell full-time

      Pros

The only pro I can say here is that you work from home - working round the clock though.

      Cons

Poor leadership and direction. I can honestly say this was the worst employment experience I have ever had. The employees all expressed how unsure they were in their roles and afraid to ask certain people in the marketing department questions for the fear of getting scolded like a child. Very surprising and strange work environment.

      Advice to Management

Cut out all the micro-managing and just let people do their jobs. We don't need contests and a million zoom calls - we just need time to do our jobs. Very poor management. Failing company that even half of the people in the marketing department don't even know how to describe what StayWell even does. I have never written a review about any company I have ever worked for before - but StayWell has been the biggest disappointment...
