    Pros

Co-Workers were friendly and easy to get along with.
Was able to cross-train into different departments within the hotel

    Cons

Independently owned and so pay was lower and less oversight from corporate.
Management could use more training into the handling of staff.

    Advice to Management

Work better at treating each employee fairly. To the ownership a pay increase for the front desk/sales/gm would attract higher talent.

    Pros

Awesome managers, advancement quickly for those that showed good work ethic, fun atmosphere

    Cons

work schedule, work life balance doesn't work. Sometimes being requeited to work until 7am on an overnight shift, and be back to work at 3pm, with less than 8 hours between.

I worked at Staybridge Suites full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I really enjoyed the working environment and guests most of the time. The Ops Manager was easy to talk to and seemed to be genuinely interested in the staff's best interest, as well as the housekeeping and engineering departments being great.

    Cons

inconsistency with the scheduling, did not feel as though there was personal opportunity for growth in the company. After I started, I was informed that there were no health benefits which was one of the main motivators for taking this position.

    Advice to Management

Consistency and follow through are the only things I would suggest that be improved. The GM is responsible for implementing a plan of action and seeing it all the way through and though she is very sweet and a good person, I felt like many plans of action just fell off after they were no longer new and exciting. I feel that more communication and follow through would be a great asset.

    Pros

    They let you be yourself!

    Cons

Management is too inexperienced to be management

    Advice to Management

Reach out to staff; it's ok to be sociable! You might learn something.

I worked at Staybridge Suites full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Staybridge Suites and IHG are great to work with and very professional and care about the customers. However Staybridge Suites is a Franchise and some Franchisee's do not have all the same values that corporate would like them to have and maintain. Some will do just the bare minimum to keep the franchise and not all treat employees the same way

    Cons

See the Pro's about some of the cons of a Franchisee

I worked at Staybridge Suites full-time

    Pros

Flexible schedule, nice co-workers, fabulous guests, hotel discounts, clean environment.

    Cons

    Pay could be more competitive.

  10. "Guest Services Manager"

    StarStarStarStarStar
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Standard benefits of working in the hotel business. Weren't really any added benefits to working the job.

    Cons

Same issues that you would have at any management position in the hotel. Working a lot of hours. Could not offer much to line level employees so it was hard to keep good employees.

    Advice to Management

You have to pay your good employees. Letting good people go to pay someone new who will accept the wage will and does come back to bite you.
