I have been working at Stella Maris part-time

    Pros

Core values. Fairr management. Great benefits available to full time employees. Comparable pay rates

    Cons

Home care dept lacks full time positions, having mostly flex positions for aides, not always steady shifts(but that comes more with the territory of being a home health aide not due to company itself.

    Advice to Management

Create more full time openings for Home Health Aide positions, increase pay rates for CNA/GNA with consideration for these positions and duties provided being compensated what they're truly worth.

    Pros

You can bring your dog to work.
    Secretary will babysit your grandchildren!

    Cons

Director never leaves office. Favored Management staff allowed to bring toddlers to work. If you’re allergic to dogs, don’t bother applying, this office is over run with staff pets!

    Advice to Management

Get back to basics and work. Stop allowing toddlers and pets at work. Is this a zoo or a workplace?

I worked at Stella Maris full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Residents and families, certainly not management.

    Cons

Horiffic management. Don't even think about home care or Hospice. The administrator is worst person I ever worked for. There is a reason why majority of openings are under this administrator's power.

    Advice to Management

Learn a little about the "mercy and justice" you espouse to be a part of. Learn how to treat people right.

I worked at Stella Maris full-time

    Pros

Good benefits and clean environment compared to other SNFs but appearances are all you get. You can't judge a book by it's cover. Not all that glitters is gold.

    Cons

Upper level management needs to take a course in their own core values. I've never worked at a place so inherently evil before in my life. They use people up and then spit them back out. It's quite ironic, being that it's supposed to be a religious institution.

    Advice to Management

Management just needs to be restructured entirely. The same couple people have always been at the top causing all of the same problems.

I have been working at Stella Maris full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The Residents and Staff that really care about each other

    Cons

Management does not have adequate knowledge

    Advice to Management

The worst management ever.No one knows what they are doing in the business office. The big picture is never addressed and the blame of poor work ethic is always blamed on the staff that left the position previous. The real truth is if the team leader and the manager would take the time to learn the position the department would run a lot better.Without a head the body does not know what to do.
