President is a puppet for parent company in mexico. They expect you to work beyond your assigned duties as the talent level is low.

    Advice to Management

Grow up! Value your staff and lead this company from the US market needs not from Mexico

I worked at Steren full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Salaries are market competitive. San Diego is a great city.

    Cons

Controlled by unstable family members. Bonus agreements are in contracts but never paid. Culture is by fear and hate. The son in law monitors the staffs emails and targets "traitors" one by one until they are gone. No strategic plan, everything is knee jerk. Senior staff is incompetent. The President is great but powerless to change anything due to the family control. No growth plan for employees, total finger point... and blame game on the daily. Very male dominated and they treat women as such. If you are looking to join a sinking ship, this is the place.

    Advice to Management

Remove and replace incompetent family members along with the legacy senior staff.

I worked at Steren for more than a year

    Pros

You get a check, and seems like they can be very creative when it comes to doing business however they never become real

    Cons

Family owned business, lack of vision, oweful environment, bad management, no managers or supervisors only directors (60% directors, 40% employes), low moral, no raises, no motivation, people could get away with murder and manaement would cover it. Promise bonuses and a long list of benefits you never actually see, ever.

    Advice to Management

Dont hire people just because they are desperated for a job, they will eventually want more. Get better pay, get rid of your dinosours and unexperienced directors. Dont be cheap.

I worked at Steren for less than a year

    Pros

Family owned and operated. They are very experienced in what they do.. They have amazing overseas supply chain and logistical management, quality control in place.

    Cons

Tends to be a little risk adverse, however they are successful in what they do. China operations are the smoothest I've seen.

I worked at Steren full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Employment, health insurance, 401k plans, great pay if you are a family member (otherwise you get poor wages and meager benefits).

    Cons

Very Low wages, short vacation allotment, family run by gross incompetents. Poor choices of available 401k plans. Expect to be treated like wage slaves because you will be.

    Advice to Management

Hire professionals at competitive wages and allow them to manage the business. Fire incompetent family members. Treat employees with respect.
