I have been working at Steritech

    Pros

A company that actually takes care of the entry level employee, to the point of losing clients to protect their assets. Vehicle, flexible hours, amazing benifits and management team that understands that they are still learning the industry. Great training program and an environment that promotes teamwork.

    Cons

Every con that I have read on this site has been the same crying you hear at every company in this particular industry. Sack up or move on, there's no room for that type of technician in any pest company.

I worked at Steritech full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Decent pay, company truck with fuel card. You make your own schedule.Being able to make your own schedule makes it easy to fit in your PTO. Good paid training. I had no idea of pest prevention before I started but I was a professional in no time. Able to travel to help out other techs in different states if you want. This was an overall excellent experience. I quit because I moved out of state.

    Cons

Always on call at my branch but you can usually put off your customer until at least the next morning. This is absolutely not a job for a single parent due to usually very early morning or late hours and being on call.

I have been working at Steritech full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Create your own schedule, company vehicle you take home daily.

    Cons

The company has really started to pinch pennies the past 6-8 months. We use to be able to get materials for the field with a company provided credit card to Lowes and Home Depot but they were taken away. Now when you are in need of something you have to hope your supervisor will send it to you, or you have to make a expense report and you will be reimbursed. Sometimes your receipts are "misplaced" and you have to wait months to recoup your money. When you put an order for supplies you need at the beginning of the month, items are cut to save money. You are also badgered on a daily basis to sell, sell, sell. Whatever the latest thing they want to jam down you and your clients throat. If you dont sell you get phone calls asking why.If you do sell the chain of emails saying how much you rock and you are a rock star as to motivate everyone else is nauseating. In turn you have people trying to sell while they have stops on their route in need of attention..

I have been working at Steritech full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

No pros only Cons: Total micromanagement. You will never have a personal life and you will become an Rentokil-Steritech slave. You constantly have a break label laws from middle management pressures. There is never enough time to do your job properly bc they try to get you to do 17 stops a day. There is no loyalty and you are completely disposable. Ladies in the office are miserable and the managers are sales men who don't know anything about pest control. They don't value their customers and you have to constantly answer for stupid company policies.

    Cons

-New hires get new equipment and more money while guys been there doesn't get yearly reviews/raises and driving crappy trucks and broken equipment. -Managers get away with so many things and upper managements in Milton Ontario head office doesn't see anything. -All accounts have major mice issue and managers doesn't know how to fix. -You must be willing to put in a lot of hours to get everything done. It can be stressful at times, due to customers. You are on call about one weekend a month and be willing to respond at any time. The company keeps adding more and more things to our plates.
