I worked at Steritech full-time for less than a year

    Pros

There are really just to many to list so here are a few. Great pay and bonus system, control over schedule, company vehicle and gas card, they train you to do the job.

    Cons

After the merger with Rentokil they are still working on changes to pay and bonus as well as route schedules. So the freedom with my route may not stay the same.

I have been working at Steritech full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Some flexibility with scheduling, company vehicle with gas card, holiday savings plan with small company match, decent health insurance

    Cons

Well...where to start. Steritech used to be a great place to work, that has unfortunately changed drastically. What used to be a great company that cared about it’s people was sold and with the sale went 95% of what differentiated Steritech from the competitors. Steritech used to care about it’s employees and it’s clients now all that matters is the bottom line and delivering profits to Rentokil shareholders. Salaries were changed to hourly pay and regardless of how Management spins it or touts how great it is, it was done as a cost savings measure. Also only people working in the field had their pay structure changed so they are saving money but doing it on the backs of the people who actually generate the revenue. The bonus plan is ever changing, they change it yearly because people figure it out and then they have to pay out too much so it’s time to change it again. With the current configuration it is nearly impossible to make anywhere near the 10% - 12% they say people can make but then again, that’s intentional. If you like to be micro-managed and second guessed all day long then this is the place for you. If you like dead ends with no chance for advancement this is the place for you. If you like being taken advantage of and constantly pushed to do more without so much as a thank you much less adequate compensation then this is the place for you.

I have been working at Steritech full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Company car, gas card, cell phone, business credit card for expenses, meeting different managers daily, working with both corporate and franchise locations, free training for CP-FS and Servsafe, benefits, ability to take PTO, travel rewards earned while working.

    Cons

Very low pay for the type of work we do. Washington is one of the most expensive places to live and we are not paid accordingly because of the car and purchase card. In high cost of living areas, these do not matter. You can only bonus if you pass your CP-FS and reach certain levels of productivity. Not everyone can do that when they are not given the work in the first place. Very little peer support in the district. Peers are promoted even after several complaints are made from clients about work ethic and attitude. Retraining should be conducted for those individuals and clients contacted for performance prior to promotion.

    I worked at Steritech

    Pros

Company Car and Gas Card, More autonomy than a standard desk job, decent pay

    Cons

This company was sold last year and has been on a steady decline that has accelerated quickly in recent months. This job requires lots of nights and weekends and travel time that you will not be compensated for. Your quality of life will be poor particularly if you have a family. No work life balance to speak of. Vacation days have been cut (hope you like working on the Friday after Thanksgiving), long standing company events have been suspended. But you can count on getting patronizing weekly "motivational lecture" emails from the higher ups who aren't out there grinding away and are almost always home in time for dinner. There is talk about safety first in meetings but you quickly learn the true concern is whether or not your work was completed, not your well being. (You've been working 13 hour days for 2 weeks straight? Great, more revenue for us!) The independence and flexibility that attracted people to the job are long gone. They micromanage every aspect. The vision of conducting true quality assessments is lost when it becomes clear that the real goal is for everyone's numbers to be right down the middle.

I worked at Steritech full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Company vehicle, gas card, uniforms and allowances for footwear, company paid training, route flexibilty, LOTS of overtime

    Cons

Being on call 24/7, field level managers micromanage but are inexperienced at the job causing confusion and tons of frustration. Clients call all the time and expect a service that realistically cannot be provided, but forget about telling anyone high up that and having them listen. My experience was that "people first" really means nothing to managers, if there was any integrity to be had here I didn't find it. Be wary of their promises and fake smiles, don't just take my word for it I'm a random guy ranting on the internet. Read the other NUMEROUS posts about this company and watch your back lest you find a knife in it.

I have been working at Steritech full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Gas Card; Pay is better than average for Companies in the same Field. Bonuses are given if certain branch criteria is met.

    Cons

Stress; Stress; and more Stress. Not Kidding. It never ends. Routes are jumbled up; where the logistics of the route and where the Specialists reside ABSOLUTELY makes NO sense what so ever. IF each individual route were run more efficiently; collectively each branch would have lower ESR's; higher net promoter scores; and the Specialists would have more home time.

I have been working at Steritech

    Pros

Company car,gas card is provided, will assist with fixing things wrong with car, food is provided during meeting

    Cons

Overworked employees who get spoken to with little to no respect. No understanding for the amount of work being thrown to complete routes at the end of the month

I have been working at Steritech full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

You feel like you are part of an exciting time, growth has been amazing over the last 5 years. The car and gas card is nice, as you can use it for personal use as well. Growth potential is there and people do move up the ranks.

    Cons

They continue to pile more and more onto their Specialists and Managers. Pay and benefits no longer seem to match what is being asked of people. Benefits have gotten substantially worse than they were when I started with the company, and they are costing me a lot more.
